Textile recycling, picked up from your door
ReSmart collects clothes, shoes, bags and bed linen from doorsteps in more than 110 councils across Australia, together with soft plastics, e-waste and the rest of the tricky stuff. Good condition or worn out, as long as it’s clean.
We collect everything, as long as it’s not wet, organic or dangerous.

How it works
Book
Pick a date in the ReSmart app or on the web. Pay per pickup, or use your council's subsidised pickups where they apply.
Bag it
Clothes, shoes, bags and accessories, in good or poor condition, as long as they’re clean. Bed linen and pillows go in too.
Leave it out
Put your items at your door on pickup day. Our driver collects them with anything else you’re recycling, and you can see where it all ends up.
What happens to your clothes and textiles
We work alongside our approved partners to find the best solution for every item: reusing first, then recycling. Wearable clothes are donated to local charities, so they get a second life instead of ending up in landfill.

Textile recycling: FAQs
Where can I recycle old clothes?
From your own doorstep. Book a ReSmart pickup, bag your clothes and leave them out; we collect them together with soft plastics, e-waste and other hard-to-recycle items. Check your address on where we collect.
Do clothes need to be in good condition?
No. We take clothes and accessories in good or poor condition, as long as they’re clean and dry. Wearable pieces are donated; the rest is reused or recycled by our partners.
Can I recycle shoes, bags and bed linen?
Yes. Shoes, handbags, backpacks, bed linen and pillows all go in the same pickup as your clothes.
What happens to my clothes after pickup?
Wearable clothes are donated to local charities. Everything else goes to our approved partners to be reused or recycled into yarn or insulation, not to landfill. What happens to your items.
Can businesses recycle uniforms and fabric offcuts?
Yes. A Commercial Pack with a textiles stream covers old uniforms and offcuts, with a dashboard that reports what was collected. See the Commercial Pack.
